Nataly Kelly has worked in the language services industry since 1996 as a certified court interpreter, freelance translator, and a member of upper management of some of the world’s largest translation and interpreting suppliers, including Language Line Services. She is fluent in Spanish and English, and has also studied French, Italian, German, Arabic, and Japanese.
In her work at Common Sense Advisory, Nataly’s primary focus is spoken language service technologies, particularly remote language mediation services such as telephone interpreting, video interpreting, and other forms of on-demand speech-to-speech language conversion. Her other coverage areas include domestic multicultural markets, quality assurance, terminology management, and translation memory.
Nataly is a former Fulbright Scholar in Spanish sociolinguistics and has obtained university education in Ecuador, Ireland, and the United States. She is the author of Telephone Interpreting, the first book ever written on the topic. She has visited 34 countries, with recent travels to Hong Kong, Israel, Malaysia, Morocco, and Singapore.
