Tahar Bouhafs

Chief Executive Officer

Tahar Bouhafs has worked as a market research executive since 1992, most notably at Forrester Research. He currently provides strategic direction and oversees the company's leadership in research, consulting, and innovative services.

Prior to joining Common Sense Advisory, Tahar was a strategic business consultant for Management Ventures (MVI) Worldwide, a company of WPP, one of the world's largest communications services groups. Before that, he led growth at exëvo, a market research firm, where he also was instrumental in setting up their new business model.

Tahar was managing director at Cambridge-based Forrester Research, where he served on the company's executive team and led the company's global expansion from a small U.S.-centric privately-held boutique firm into a publicly-traded market leader valued at US$180 million with clients in nearly 50 countries. Prior to this executive role,Tahar developed the first international channels at Forrester Research, building strategic alliances and channels first in Europe, and then in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. He also served as the head of planning at SONATRACH (Société Nationale pour la Recherche, la Production, le Transport, la Transformation, et la Commercialisation des Hydrocarbures) and oversaw the GTE/SONELEC Turnkey Electronics venture.

Tahar has an extensive academic background in international business and technology. He holds a Master’s degree in computer science from Boston University and a Master's degree in management from the Hult International Business School of Management, a top-ranked international business school. He also attended the ESSEC business school in France and the Ecole Supérieur de Commerce in Algeria. He has served as a faculty member at Boston University, Cambridge College, University of Massachusetts - Lowell, and Fitchburg State College. Tahar is a fluent speaker of Arabic, English, and French, and has visited 67 countries.
