You can now access many translation tools and services from the cloud in the same way that you use Salesforce or share information through Google Docs. In May and June 2012, we surveyed buyers, language service providers (LSPs), and freelancers from 49 countries to determine how well these cloud-based offerings meet their needs and expectations. Our research confirms that the cloud is here to stay, but there is definitely room for technology providers to improve (see "Translation in the Cloud," Nov12). This brief provides data on user satisfaction levels in five areas: output quality, usability, performance, cost, and vendor quality.
