Summary
You can't meet today's global market expectations or outpace local competitors with old-school practices. A more demanding business landscape requires more responsive localization. Sophisticated procedures and behaviors that previously characterized more advanced levels of performance have become basic enablers for earlier stages of localization maturity.

In June and July 2016, CSA Research conducted an extensive data collection initiative with 90 global firms in 15 countries. We ran 6,657 correlations to identify how maturity is evolving. Based on our analysis, this report updates the Localization Maturity ModelTM (LMM) to version 3.0.

Managers and directors with new responsibility for globalization, as well as their more experienced colleagues, will learn why it is urgent for their teams to advance more quickly through the phases of localization maturity. They will also understand how to do so. This report covers:

  • A brief history of the Localization Maturity Model
  • Five drivers and six enablers that make it essential for organizations to speed up their localization progress
  • The new Localization Maturity Model 3.0, including detailed descriptions for Level 1 (Reactive) through Level 5 (Transparent)
  • Guidelines for how to advance faster in the areas of governance, strategy, process, organization, and automation
