Issues related to gender are highly contentious, with implications for both governmental and organizational policy. This report builds on CSA Research’s previous pro bono report on gender in the language services sector to focus on results specific to Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking regions in Latin America. It finds significant differences from Anglophone and Francophone North America and Europe. After discussing the survey method, it focuses on: the pay gap in Latin America compared to other regions, including structural issues and how workers perceive pay; advancement opportunities; perception of the importance of gender issues; and a summary and discussion of the importance of regional comparisons in this area.
