Summary
The ubiquity and widespread use of free machine translation options present data security challenges to enterprises that otherwise restrict access to privileged content. In this brief, we recount what respondents to Common Sense Advisory’s 2013 survey on machine translation (MT) told us about their security concerns, which issues they should worry about, and what they can do to protect themselves from the leakage of of intellectual property due to unrestricted use of free MT.
