Translation and interpreting suppliers often ask us, “What is my company worth?” The short answer is, “It depends.” The longer answer relates mainly to two things -- the factors which differentiate smaller LSPs from larger, more institutional language service companies, and the way in which scale effects valuation multiples (see “The Owner’s Guide to Maximizing LSP Value,” Apr10). In this brief, we take a look at public company valuations as a guide to what language service providers (LSPs) that seek to break through the small company ceiling can achieve.
