Common Sense Advisory today launched a survey on translation project managers’ (PM) responsibilities, which is the first of its kind in the language services industry.
In the last decade, project managers at translation agencies have seen drastic changes in their job descriptions. Technologies such as translation memory, translation management systems, and machine translation have had a direct impact on the day-to-day activities of PMs. In addition, client requirements have become more challenging with tighter turnaround times and lower costs, altering the way production teams work. Project managers also experience increased pressure from their own management teams by way of increased metric tracking on productivity and profitability. The bottom line is that PMs deal with an ever-growing list of responsibilities, but their compensation has not necessarily changed.
Common Sense Advisory has designed a new study to assess the state of project management in translation companies. The more responses we get, the more meaningful the data will be. So we encourage you to forward this call for participation along to project managers.
If you manage projects at a translation company, take the survey now. You will receive a complimentary summary of our findings within 6 to 8 weeks after publication of the report.
The survey will remain open till February 15th, 2013, but don’t let time slip away. Take the survey today!
