Music to SDL's ears. This press release announces a customer win for SDL over rivals such as Trados and Idiom. News like this is meant to demonstrate momentum and to assure prospects (and current customers) that they would make the right choice by choosing this vendor. Sony expects improved translation quality and productivity enhancements to yield 100% ROI in less than two years. Sony cites increased translation productivity, reduced error rates, and lower software licensing costs as its reason for switching. These three reasons imply dissatisfaction with the productivity, quality, and price of the previous solution from Trados.
