Abstract |
| Futurists block their predictions into timeframes ranging from the next couple of years to the far distant half-century and beyond. Their mid-level scan ranges from five to ten years out, their long-range predictions stretch out 10 years to two decades. The shorter the timeline, the less valuable the prediction. Or as Wacker and Taylor put it in "The Visionary’s Handbook," "the closer your vision gets to a provable future, the more you are simply describing the present. In the same way, the more certain you are of a future outcome, the more likely you will be wrong." With that disclaimer in mind, we prognosticated about the future. |
